BRAVE CF 108: THREE MILESTONES THAT MOVED MMA FORWARD

BRAVE Combat Federation’s latest spectacle in Croatia delivered much more than nine action-packed bouts.

BRAVE CF 108 became a showcase of the Bahrain-born promotion’s ambition to expand the boundaries of mixed martial arts through international growth, historic presentation, and digital innovation.

The event unfolded last Saturday, September 5, at the magnificent Pula Arena, where fans were treated to end-of-your-seat action from the opening contest through the main event.

While the athletes provided the competitive drama, three landmark achievements gave the occasion significance beyond the results inside the cage.

CROATIA EXPANDS BRAVE CF’S GLOBAL FOOTPRINT

The first milestone came with Croatia becoming the 18th European nation and 39th country overall to host a BRAVE CF event.

The achievement further strengthened an international strategy built around taking world-class MMA to established combat sports destinations and emerging markets alike.

Rather than limiting its reach to familiar territories, the organization has spent the past decade constructing a truly international platform for athletes, partners, and supporters.

That approach has helped BRAVE CF establish the largest share of the European MMA market while developing a global footprint few promotions can match.

For BRAVE CF President Mohammed Shahid, expansion is ultimately about creating opportunities that benefit the entire sport.

“Our commitment is to keep entering new markets and helping them grow with us,” he said.

“We want to create one ecosystem where every nation can thrive, develop its athletes, and contribute to the progress of MMA. When one market becomes stronger, the entire sport moves forward.”

PULA ARENA BRINGS ANCIENT COMBAT INTO THE MODERN ERA

The second breakthrough at BRAVE CF 108 transformed one of the world’s oldest surviving sporting structures into a stage for modern combat.

Pula Arena, one of the six largest and best-preserved Roman amphitheaters, dates back nearly 2,000 years. Under the open night sky, its historic walls provided the backdrop for an event promoted around the “Modern Gladiators” theme.

BRAVE CF became the first truly global MMA organization to bring a major international show into a Roman amphitheater.

The setting created a compelling connection between ancient combat traditions and today’s elite fighters, including former BRAVE CF Bantamweight World Champion Stephen “The Sniper” Loman, who made his highly anticipated return in the co-main event.

“Our ethos is about elevating the experience of watching live sport while honoring the past,” Shahid stated.

“Pula Arena allowed us to connect the heritage of combat with modern MMA and give fans an experience that could not be replicated in a conventional venue.”

BRAVE CF TAKES LIVE MMA INTO THE VERTICAL ERA

The third landmark emerged through technology.

BRAVE CF 108 introduced dedicated 9:16 live broadcasts across YouTube, Facebook, and X, giving mobile audiences a viewing format designed specifically for vertical screens.

As smartphones become an increasingly important gateway to live entertainment, the initiative reflects a willingness to move beyond conventional television-oriented production.

“Our responsibility is to constantly challenge ourselves and find better ways to serve our fans,” Shahid mentioned.

“The way people consume sport is changing rapidly, so we have to evolve with them. This vertical broadcast is another example of BRAVE CF pushing forward and creating an experience that feels natural to the modern audience.”

By expanding its global footprint, placing modern competition within an ancient landmark, and adapting its broadcast for the mobile era, BRAVE CF 108 demonstrated that the evolution of MMA extends far beyond the cage.

The night in Pula was not simply another event. It was a statement about where the sport can go next.
