Survey Scam! A Page Caught Manipulating Public Opinion
An online page, notorious for publishing fake news and conducting biased online surveys to favor its preferred candidate, recently faced an embarrassing miscalculation. In its latest attempt to manipulate public perception, the survey results instead revealed the true frontrunner—completely contradicting the page’s intended narrative. Realizing the blunder, the page took down its post from the groups where it was shared and scrambled to control the damage.
In a desperate attempt to discredit the results, the page claimed—citing a supposed “thorough investigation” with Meta—that those who voted for the leading female congressional candidate were merely trolls. Now, it appears poised to conduct another survey, likely in an effort to undermine or reverse the outcome.
This blatant manipulation not only misleads the public but also raises a critical question: Is this page deliberately ignoring the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) resolution on the responsible conduct of surveys? If so, such deceptive practices demand scrutiny and accountability.
The page’s desperation is evident as it scrambles to discredit the true frontrunner while propping up its preferred candidate with false hopes. By manipulating online surveys and pushing misleading narratives, it seeks to deceive the public and distort reality.
Such blatant dishonesty not only undermines the integrity of the electoral process but also aims to dampen the momentum of the leading candidate. The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) must take decisive action and strictly enforce its latest resolution on online surveys to prevent the spread of misinformation and hold accountable those who seek to manipulate public perception.
