February 24, 2025 – The highly anticipated Session Road in Bloom officially opened today, transforming Baguio’s historic thoroughfare into a lively, pedestrian-friendly festival hub teeming with local crafts, delectable cuisine, and live performances. This week-long event, a hallmark of the Panagbenga Festival, continues to celebrate the city’s rich cultural heritage while promoting tourism and local enterprise. The grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony was graced by Baguio Tourism Council Chairperson Gladys Vergara (GV), alongside her father, Former Congressman Bernardo Vergara, ex-officio Vice Chairman of the Baguio Flower Festival Foundation, Inc. They were joined by Mayor Benjamin Magalong and Congressman Marquez Go, who delivered inspiring messages on the festival’s significance in driving economic growth and fostering community engagement.

In an interview following the ceremony, Gladys Vergara emphasized the importance of Session Road in Bloom as a platform for local entrepreneurs and artisans, reinforcing Baguio’s reputation as a UNESCO Creative City. She also highlighted how the event strengthens connections between residents and visitors, making it a vital part of Baguio’s tourism landscape. As one of the most beloved highlights of Panagbenga, Session Road in Bloom offers a unique experience where visitors can stroll through a lively avenue lined with stalls showcasing handcrafted goods, artisanal products, and a diverse array of culinary delights. The celebration also serves as a stage for local musicians and performers, adding to the festive atmosphere. With the festival now in full swing, Baguio City continues to shine as the Summer Capital of the Philippines, inviting everyone to immerse themselves in the beauty, creativity, and warm hospitality that define Session Road in Bloom.
