BAGUIO CITY(February 21, 2025)— Pangasinan Governor Ramon Guico III beams that his home province is looking forward to become “The Singapore of the North” once the 11-storey government center or tower rises.


In a ground breaking ceremony on Thursday, February 20, 2025, for the 1st phase of said infrastructure project, Guico III together with Vice-Governor Mark Ronald DG. Lambino and members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan led other officials and employees in laying down the time capsule at the area where the government center will rise.


According to Lambino, this historic initiative marks the fruition of two years of planning, collaboration and consultation among experts, aimed at positioning Pangasinan as a leading province of growth and progress. 


The Vice-Governor said that the construction of the 11-storey building is alongside the building of a 1,500 seating capacity convention center where it's groundbreaking rit s were also done earlier. The tital cost of the construction of the said facilities is P2 billion.


Guico III admits they faces many challenges when the design of the building and as being done especially when soil testing and analysis was conducted. He said the design was again reviewed and adjustments were done.


The provincial government also has to consult construction engineers to ensure the integrity and safety of the building. He said this took time in finalizing the appropriate design and the bidding of the phase 1 of the project. 


“In the construction phase, there will be more challenges that we will be facing expecting and there will be more challenges that we will not be expecting," the governor said. 


The cost of the phase 1 of the construction of the government center will be at P30 million. Guico III said that it is being targeted to be done in a year.
