Pacman owes P10M from investor in botched "Gen. Malvar" biopic

BAGUIO CITY (November 7, 2024)— Former senator and 8-division boxing champion Emmanuel “Manny” Pacquiao is being asked by an investor to refund the P10 million he received as professional fee in the supposed biofilm “General Miguel Malvar”.

The Kamura Farm Ventures Holdings, Inc. represented by Jewel C. Castro on October 2019 entered into a movie production agreement with JMV Film Productions, Actors' Guild, Dream Wings Production and Pacquiao.

A demand letter by Samson & Associates Law Office representing Castro of Kamura Ventures dated November 7, 2024 sent to three of Pacquiao’s mansions and corporate offices, quoted the movie production agreement that stipulated Pacquiao agreeing to be paid P10 million for his portrayal of the national hero Gen. Malvar in that supposed movie.

Castro said, his firm Kamura Farm Ventures Holdings Inc. invested P10 million to JMV Film Production hoping that the film will earn more than double their capital.

The movie however did not materialize, though Pacquiao, Castro claimed, had received certain amounts. “In this regard, may we ask you to refund Kamura represented by Jewel C. Castro who was the producer and financer of the movie production", the demand letter by the law firm representing Castro stated.

The law firm urged the former Senator to contact them or communicate directly to Castro to settle the P10M.
