NEW DELHI, India – LANDBANK is exploring new opportunities with leading Indian fintech companies to advance digital payments, financial inclusion, and cross-border financial services for Filipinos at home and abroad.
A key engagement was held with NPCI International Payments Limited (NIPL), the international arm of the organization behind India's Unified Payments Interface (UPI), to discuss potential cooperation in digital payments and interoperability.
The meeting was held alongside President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s participation in the 18th BRICS Summit in India, amid efforts by the Philippines and India to strengthen economic and business ties.
LANDBANK President and CEO Lynette V. Ortiz led discussions with NIPL officials on potential cooperation to enhance cross-border payments, streamline government collections and disbursements, and expand access to digital financial services, particularly for overseas Filipinos and underserved communities.
“Digital innovation has the power to bring financial services closer to every Filipino, wherever they may be. Through our engagement with NIPL, LANDBANK is exploring solutions that can make transactions simpler, faster, and more accessible, while supporting a more inclusive and connected financial future for the country,” said LANDBANK President and CEO Ortiz.
The discussions also explored how interoperable payment systems could enable faster and more seamless transactions for businesses, government agencies, and overseas Filipinos.
Further building on its existing engagement with Pine Labs, one of India’s leading digital payments and financial technology companies, LANDBANK met with the company to explore additional areas of cooperation in digital onboarding, merchant acquisition, QR-enabled transactions, artificial intelligence applications, and other technology-driven approaches to financial inclusion.
LANDBANK also connected with the Filipino community in India through a financial education forum in New Delhi. The forum introduced participants to LANDBANK’s digital banking solutions, cybersecurity initiatives, and investment opportunities, as well as options for conveniently managing their finances while abroad.
Through these engagements, LANDBANK is pursuing strategic partnerships to advance digital innovation, promote financial inclusion, and improve access to banking services for Filipinos at home and abroad. These efforts also support stronger economic and people-to-people ties between the Philippines and India.
