La Union Opens New P-34.5M Bridge, Promises Convenience and Economic Growth

Residents and farmers in the interior town of Tubao, La Union can now enjoy shorter travel time and easier transportation of their farm products to the market, with the construction of a bridge by the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU).

Gov. Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David led the inauguration ceremony of the newly-constructed Pideg bridge on February 5, 2025 of the said town. The project which costs Php 34,500,000.00, is seen to enhance accessibility and boost economic progress.

Funded by the PGLU, the construction of the bridge commenced on April 25, 2023 and was completed on December 10, 2024. From 10 meters, the bridge was expanded to 30 meters in length and features a 306 x 6.1 meters pavement.

Gov. Ortega-David said.

The project brings a more efficient, accessible and safer thoroughfare for residents and neighboring communities traversing the area. It also provides convenience to farmers transporting their agricultural produce.

The bridge also serves as an alternate route to the municipality of Rosario that will link Barangays Pideg and Francia Sur in Tubao to the different barangays namely Bacani, Marcos, Tanglag, and Parasapas in Rosario which will eventually lead to Marcos Highway.

Ortega-David added.

Gov. Rafy added that the completion of road projects in the different barangays in the province is now at 90%.

The lady Governor is expecting more infrastructure projects to be completed this year as she affirmed her commitment to implement infrastructure projects that will spur economic growth and improve the quality of life of the constituents.
