GCash parent Mynt grows GStocks PH into Filipinos’ leading digital retail gateway to the stock market
For GCash, a strong focus on building financial literacy helps Filipinos make more informed, confident financial decisions.

Beyond powering frictionless digital payments in areas like public transportation, online and offline cashless purchases, and peer-to-peer transfers, Mynt, the parent company of GCash, is also expanding access to investing through its wealthtech platform. With simple signup and paperless registration that eliminates the need to physically visit a bank or brokerage, GInvest enables Filipinos to invest via GStocks, GFunds, GBonds, and more directly through the GCash app. GStocks serves 1.7 million users through broker AB Capital Securities Inc., accounting for 53% of all online retail stock market accounts with the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) as of 2025, reinforcing GCash as the country's largest digital gateway to the capital markets for retail investors.
This was revealed by Darvin Sy Su, GCash general manager for Wealth Management at an investor relations forum organized by the Shareholders' Association of the Philippines (SharePHIL), a leading industry association for advancing the rights and financial literacy of minority shareholders and retail investors. At the forum, Sy Su shared how the growth of the wealthtech platform is enabled by GCash efforts to strengthen financial literacy among Filipinos.
The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) recorded 3.64 million stock market accounts in 2025, a 27.3% increase from 2.86 million accounts the previous year, according to its annual Stock Market Investor Profile report. The report found that 99.2%, or 3.61 million accounts, belong to retail investors, of which 3.22 million accounts are held online through digital trading platforms and e-wallets. The same report also found that online retail accounts grew 30.5% year on year.
The rapid growth of online investing reflects a broader shift toward digital platforms that lower barriers to market participation. By simplifying onboarding and enabling Filipinos to invest directly through the GCash app, GInvest is helping bring more first-time and retail investors into the Philippine capital markets while advancing digital financial inclusion.
Beyond stock investing, GCash has also become a leading platform for investment funds, with 8.8 million registered GFunds users and as much as 4 in 5 unit investment trust funds (UITF) in the Philippines conducted through GFunds via partners ATRAM, BPI-IMI, and Manulife IM as of 2025.
According to Sy Su, the growth of GCash from the Philippines' first mobile wallet in 2012 to a leading digital investments marketplace is only a natural part of the superapp’s evolution. “The transition of GCash from an everyday payments app into the platform of choice for retail investors is part of our commitment to empowering every Filipino with accessible and secure ways to secure their long-term financial security.” Sy Su said.
Confidence, not convenience, encourages Filipinos toward investing
“Fostering greater financial literacy among Filipinos remains a key priority for GCash,” shared Sy Su. “We recognize that bridging Filipinos—many of whom are newcomers to the digital finance space—to investment products like stocks, bonds, and funds requires going beyond enabling convenient access through our app. Rather, building financial literacy is about equipping Filipinos with the knowledge they need to make more informed financial decisions.”
“When we improve our clients’ access to guidance, we see a clear correlation to adoption. As their understanding grows, so does their confidence to start investing,” he added.
GCash, through GInvest, is accelerating its momentum in the country’s retail investment space. By enhancing GStocks to make stock trading and IPO investing more seamless and intuitive, launching its AI-powered Pera Coach to provide on-demand financial guidance, and preparing for the upcoming sandbox launch of GStocks Global with the Securities and Exchange Commission to give more Filipinos access to US-listed stocks, the e-wallet is well-positioned to advance its mission of enabling finance for all.
Registering on GStocks PH takes just a few taps. To begin stock investing, fully-verified GCash users just need to open the app, go to the “Invest” tab and select “GStocks PH” to sign up and complete the digital KYC.
GCash continues to pioneer efforts to help everyday e-wallet users transition into more capable, confident investors. For more information, visit www.gcash.com.
