Cops raid three Abra houses; seize illegal guns

BAGUIO CITY (March 14, 2025) -- Abra policemen seized several illegal guns and ammunition in three court-sanctioned raids Friday.

 

A caliber 38 Smith and Wesson revolver, four bullets and a sling black bag were taken from a house at barangay Cosili East, Bangued Abra.

 

Police though failed to catch the owner, whom police did not identify, of the illegal firearm and ammunition.

 

While a male suspect, who was also unidentified by policemen, was taken for questioning and to answer for election gun ban violations during another court-ordered raid at a house in sitio South, barangay Calaba, also in Bangued, after seizing a P7.45 Limited Para-Ordnance Caliber .45 Pistol 1911 model bearing serial number 723772; two magazines for Caliber .45 loaded with 8 live ammunition each; twelve pieces live ammunition for Caliber .45; a live ammunition for Caliber .9mm; an empty short magazine assembly for Caliber 5.56mm; a Black tactical sling bag; two Black tactical belt bags; a Black pistol inside holster; and a Black pistol low carry holster.

 

Yet in the third house raided, a green backpack containing black tactical sling bag a cal. 45 Colt MK IV series 80 with serial number 311299 inserted with magazine loaded with seven (7) live ammunitions; a magazine inserted with six ammunitions; seven pieces of cal. 9mm ammunitions; two cal. 45 ammunitions; and two cal.22 ammunitions; and

a violet pouch containing one cal.45 ammunition; a cal.38 ammunition; a cal. 22 ammunition and an empty shell for unknown caliber.

 

Abra police director Col. Gilbert Fati-ig said Executive Judge German F Ballesteros III of the Regional Trial Court 1 in Bangued, Abra sanctioned the raids.

 

All seized illegal firearms and ammunitions and other items were brought to the Camp Col. Juan Villamor in Calaba, Bangued, Abra for documentation and preparation of criminal charges.
