BAGUIO CITY (October 26, 2024) -- Three Abrenians including a two-year old boy survived a slay try Friday evening along the Tayum-Bucay road in Tayum town in Abra.

The victims -- Rollyto Bisares Tejero, 29; Dave Justice Bataller, 25, and the boy-- on board a car heading to home to South Poblacion, Bucay town, were fired at by automatic gunfire by the riding-in-tandem assassins at around 6:05 PM at Sitio Batiwtiw, Barangay Basbasa.

Tejero, Abra police said, was wounded but managed to drive their vehicle towards the Bucay police station to seek help and report the incident.

Bucay town policemen rushed Tejero, who sustained a gunshot wound in his back, to the Bucay District Hospital. Bataller and the boy were not hurt.

The Abra Provincial Forensic Unit of the PNP has processed the scene of the shooting and

Tayum police intelligence operatives launched a manhunt.

It was not established yet if the shooting was politically-motivated though initial theories point out that road rage prompted it.
