BAGUIO CITY – The Polish Investment and Trade Agency, through its initiative Poland.Business Forward, held an intimate event on October 21, 2024, that brought together local business leaders from the Baguio area. Baguio Tourism Council (BTC) Chairman Gladys Vergara participated in the discussions, emphasizing the significance of fostering international partnerships to drive local economic growth. The event provided a platform to explore collaborations between Polish enterprises and Baguio’s dynamic business community, positioning Poland as a strategic partner for Baguio-based companies.
Key discussions centered on how Polish businesses can support economic development in the region while offering Baguio companies access to European markets. This comes at a pivotal time, with Free Trade Agreement negotiations underway between the Philippines and the European Union (EU). Poland was highlighted as an ideal gateway for local enterprises to tap into the EU market, presenting growth opportunities for businesses in both countries.
BTC Chair Gladys Vergara expressed her enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “We are excited to welcome Poland as a valuable partner in our economic initiatives. Key participants included Bartek Wasiewski, Head of the Poland Foreign Trade Office in Manila, Evangeline Ariaga, Foreign Trade Consultant, and Khae Delos Reyes, Events Manager of the Foreign Trade Office in Manila.
Moreover, the Polish Investment and Trade Agency expressed interest in exploring possible investment opportunities in Baguio, reinforcing its role in fostering international partnerships that benefit the local economy.
