Police commando, four others from Benguet caught for killing two in Quirino province’s bar brawl

BAGUIO CITY (December 25, 2024)— A commando of the Regional Mobile Force Batallion 15 of the Cordillera police and four others were hauled to jail after a bar brawl that ending into a shooting that killed two before Christmas (December 24, 2024) in Villa Norte, Maddela town in Quirino province.



The suspects— Patrolman Dave Macanas, alias "John", alias "Fred", alias "Allen", and alias "Manong", all said to be from Itogon, Benguet and othewho were said to be residents of Maddela, Quirino are identified by their aliases as "Roel", "Mike", and "Johnny". 

Police also named another two suspects as alias "Rey" from Tokukan, Tinoc town in Ifugao and "Manny" from Banaue town also in Ifugao. “Manny” managed to escape.


The fatalities were identified as EJ Rodriguez and Crisel Cayong, while four hurt in the shooting were identified as June Dave Sebastian, Mike Ramos, a certain “Edward”, and "Kesha", all from Maddela, Quirino.


According to the police, the two groups were inside a resto bar when a free-for-all erupted.

Shooting broke out killing Rodriguez and Cayong and hurting their companions.


The suspects tried to flee on board a van but were intercepted by the Quirino police at barangay Palacian, Aglipay town, Quirino.
