Law enforcement agencies' interoperability brings success in almost P1M Baguio City shabu haul

BAGUIO CITY (February 27, 2025) -- Authorities led by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in the Cordillera seized almost a million-worth of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu Wednesday in barangay Irisan, here.

PDEA-Cordillera director Derrick Carreon traced the success of 125 gram shabu haul worth P850,000.00 at the interoperability of various law enforcement agencies, including the Philippine Air Force and police.

The suspect, Carreon added, a 29-year-old male from Buguey, Cagayan province, was caught after he sold two plastic sachets that contained 125 grams of shabu to an undercover government agent.

He reportedly gets his illegal drug supply on a consignment basis and goes on to his trade at the street level.

Carreon bared that the suspect got the 125 grams of shabu for a measly P100,000.00, though government valued the drugs at the street level to reach a high of P850,000.00.

The PDEA official in the Cordillera also bared that the drug supply in the highland region is presently high while there are a lot of drug dealers, prompting wholesale prices to dive down.
