Gracious in Defeat - Gladys Vergara in a Thanksgiving Dinner Expresses Her Heartfelt Gratitude for the Campaign

Gladys Vergara accepted her defeat graciously, expressing her heartfelt thoughts over the result of the election and choosing to focus on the next steps of her commitment to public service.
“We may have lost the official count but we won the hearts of the people. We just need to take this slowly,” Vergara said in a message to her supporters.
Despite the outcome, she said she was not dismayed. The result, according to her, only strengthened her resolve to continue the Glad to Serve You Baguio movement, which she is a dedication to serving people regardless of position or title.
“This is not the end. It is the beginning of a deeper kind of service,” she said.
Vergara assured that she would continue the promises she made during her visits to the barangays throughout the campaign period.
“I told them I would stand by them. That does not change. I will continue what I said I would do,” she added.
The Glad to Serve You Baguio movement, she explained, is a sincere commitment to both residents and visitors of the city. It reflects a spirit of positivity, dedication and constant support for the community. Details of the next steps under the initiative will be announced in the coming weeks.
Among those standing with her is Glenn Gaerlan, who, despite not making it in the final count, said he would continue his work with students and youth in the city.
“Next time it might not just be 5G but 6G,” Gaerlan joked, referring to his own electoral journey. “But seriously, this is far from over. I am committed to help with the movement and to continue serving in any way I can.”
Gaerlan also expressed his heartfelt support for Vergara, saying her sincerity and quiet strength remained a source of inspiration throughout the campaign.
Also present was Eric Kelly, who recalled the time he stood behind another candidate and how they once aligned in their causes. This election, he said, was different.
“I saw how Gladys supported my advocacy in sports and youth empowerment. She was there from the start, even during my bid for the council,” Kelly said.
He added that it was this continued support that became the deciding factor for his decision to join Glad to Serve You Baguio.
“I am grateful. What we do here matters to the next generation. I know I’m in the right place,” he said.
Vergara thanked those who stood by her, including volunteers, community leaders and friends who joined her in meetings, house-to-house visits and community discussions.
“It means a lot that people believed in what we stood for. That support continues to give me strength,” she said.
“We move forward with respect. We continue with service." She concluded.
