Beyond his tenure in public office, he remains a steadfast defender of Indigenous land rights, cultural preservation, and legal empowerment, making him an influential figure in Baguio’s IP sector.
His legal expertise and advocacy have earned him the trust and respect of many, especially in addressing ancestral land disputes and promoting inclusive governance.
In declaring his support for Vergara, Balisong emphasized the need for strong, principled leadership that prioritizes sustainable development, economic growth, and community-driven governance.
“Baguio needs a leader who understands its heritage and future. Gladys Vergara has the vision, experience, and dedication to serve our city with integrity. “Atty. Rocky Balisong has been an unwavering advocate for justice and Indigenous rights, and I am honored to have his support. His legacy of public service inspires me to continue working toward a Baguio where every sector, especially our Indigenous communities, has a voice in governance and progress,” Vergara said.
