Baguio Tourism Council Steps Up Preparations for An

Enchanting Baguio Christmas 2024

It’s all systems go for An Enchanting Baguio Christmas (AEBC) 2024, set to run from November 28 to January 5, 2025, at Burnham Park’s Rose Garden and other festive locations throughout the city. This was recently announced by Baguio Tourism Council (BTC) Chairman Gladys Vergara. Like in past Christmas in Baguio celebrations, the BTC is fully committed to making this year’s Yuletide festivities memorable for both residents and visitors.

“As in previous years, we are determined to make AEBC 2024 a grand celebration that everyone will cherish, with exciting events running from late November to early January,” Vergara shared. She emphasized the importance of creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for tourists, as Baguio typically experiences a surge of visitors during the Christmas season. “We want to ensure that both our residents and tourists enjoy a festive and joyous holiday season in Baguio,” she added.

Burnham Park will once again be the centerpiece of the city’s Yuletide festivities, with the Rose Garden serving as the focal point. Vergara noted that preparations across the city are well underway, with all 127 barangays finalizing their entries for the Bituin ng Pasko: Inter-Barangay Holiday Décor and Choral Competition, where talented choirs will serenade audiences with Christmas carols. The entire city is coming together to create vibrant and meaningful holiday displays that reflect the spirit of the season.

A major highlight of AEBC 2024 is the return of the European-themed Enchanting Christmas Market at the Rose Garden, opening on November 28. This market will offer a unique festive experience inspired by traditional Christmas markets across Europe. Local vendors will showcase curated holiday treats, handmade goods, and more, creating an inviting and cheerful environment reminiscent of European Yuletide celebrations.

Other key events include the much-anticipated collaboration between the Philippine Military Academy and Ballet Baguio for the fourth year of staging the magical “The Nutcracker”, as well as the Parade of the Toy Soldiers and the PMA Silent Drill. The University of Baguio will also present their annual Christmas Cantata at the Rose Garden. The official lighting of the Baguio Christmas Tree atop Session Road, capped by the Saint Louis University Lantern Parade, will illuminate the city. Festivities continue with performances by the University of the Cordilleras’ YesUCan Performing Arts Concert. Anticipated Masses, gift-giving events, and the much-awaited New Year’s Countdown at Melvin Jones Football Field are also in store, along with many other surprises for visitors and residents alike.

“I encourage our city to embrace the Christmas spirit and extend the warmest welcome to our tourists, making this holiday season in Baguio a truly enchanting and unforgettable experience,” Vergara concluded.

An Enchanting Baguio Christmas 2024 promises to bring the magic of the holidays to life, fostering unity, joy, and a shared sense of community throughout the city.
