4 young suspects flagged for drugs, gun, bullets along Baguio City checkpoint

BAGUIO CITY (January 29, 2025) -- Members of the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) took four young drug suspects to answer for illegal drugs, a gun and bullets after policemen manning a checkpoint noticed them carrying illegal items along Marcos Highway at Barangay Sto. Tomas Proper, here Tuesday evening.

 

The names of the suspects --three males and a female –were withheld by policemen, who claimed they were manning a checkpoint when the vehicle of the suspects approached.

 

The suspects, when asked to roll down their windows, refused prompting policemen to suspect they were concealing illegal items.

 

When searched, three plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, dried marijuana leaves and drug paraphernalia, a pistol with two magazines and live ammunition were discovered inside their vehicle.

 

According to the Baguio City police, criminal charges for possessing illegal drugs and violation of the existing election gun ban are going to be filed against the four suspects.

 

Earlier Tuesday, driver Arvin dela Cruz Pamintian, from Barangay Bulakan, Bulacan, was also taken during a drug sting at Burnham-Legarda barangay. 

 

Seized by members of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Baguio and Baguio police station 5 from him were 10 bricks of dried marijuana leaves and marijuana sticks with a total worth of P1.2 million.
